The Midwest’s largest pop culture convention continues its growth, in every way imaginable. Four-day passes for Wizard World Chicago Comic Con, August 21-24 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., sold out weeks ago, and today the promotion announced that Dealer, Exhibitor and Artist Alley spots (approximately 600 total) have all been taken as well.
With over one million square feet of space, combining the show floor area, programming and associated rooms, it’s the largest footprint ever for the event, Wizard World’s longest running and highest attended show. The event also has more than 120 hours of programming scheduled, including two premium events at Rosemont Theater (“Wizard World Presents: Matt Smith & Karen Gillan Reunion Panel,” Sunday, Aug. 24, 10 a.m.; and “Star Trek: The Next Generation Reunion Event,” Sunday, 5 p.m.).
David Boreanaz (“Bones,” “Angel”), Norman Reedus (“The Walking Dead,” Boondock Saints), Matt Smith and Karen Gillan (“Doctor Who,”), Katie Cassidy (“Arrow,” “Gossip Girl”), Patrick Stewart (X-Men, “Star Trek: TNG”) William Shatner (“Star Trek,” “T.J. Hooker”) and comics legend Stan Lee are among the celebrities scheduled to attend the event. Wizard World Chicago Comic Con will also feature a top-drawer collection of well-known comics artists and writers and a variety of activities, exhibitors and special attractions.
