WWTEXAS: FRIDAY RECAP

A quick rundown of the day's events!
By Brett White
WWTEXAS: FRIDAY RECAPWizard World Texas opened its doors this morning after months of anticipation and it did not disappoint! The large crowd got their fair share of creator signatures, back issues and amazing commissions. Here's a super quick recap of what happened at a number of the panels.

- During the End of Planetary panel, John Cassaday revealed that the cover to the long-awaited issue number 27 will be a double-gatefold cover most likely featuring a who's who of Planetary characters.

- After issue 27 hits stands, the final volume of Planetary will be released in hardcover form. There will also be a second volume of Absolute Planetary.

- Christos Gage didn't give much information, but he did say to keep an eye out for issues 20 and 21 of Avengers: Initiative. They're going to be big!

- During the Writing Teenagers panel, Phil Hester discussed the upcoming Cartoon Network adaptation of his series Firebreather. He's read the first script and said it loosely adapts the first Firebreather mini.

Keep checking back here for more updates about Wizard World Texas. Saturday has panels about The Joker and Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane as well as the FearJam concert and the Hero Initiative Game Show Event.

Check out all this awesome swag at the Wizard Booth and on the show floor.

Lastly, here's something you can only see at the convention and unless they've cleaned up the tables, you might have already missed your shot. Here are two sketches done by Arthur Suydam and Phil Hester on their tablecloths.
