Terry Moore himself described Echo as "'The X-Files' meets 'The Fugitive' meets '24,'" and anyone who's reading this captivating new series from Moore's own Abstract Studios would be inclined to agree.
What Moore didn't include in that definition were the ingredients he added to create the gripping emotional drama at this series core.
Here are some of the series' best moments!

 |
  Julie gets slimed (Echo #1)
Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Photographer Julie Martin witnesses an explosion in the desert that results in a shower of silver pellets that stick to her skin. This kicks off the thriller plot of the series but also introduces us to our protagonist, who's as upset about signing divorce papers for her estranged husband Rick as she is about acquiring a shiny new tank top.

 |
  Shocking development (Echo #2)
Julie's trip to the doctor takes a turn for the worse when her new accessory shocks the blazes out of the doctor's hand upon touching it. On the other hand, the breastplate lets Julie's dog walk all over it to give Julie a big ol' lick. Must...resist...obvious..."Must Love Dogs"...joke...!

  Julie confronts Rick (Echo #3)
Moore delivers more gritty human emotion in this heated five-page exchange than all of Clint Eastwood's oeuvre combined. Julie lets Rick in on her silver-plated problem only to have him think she's lost her mind. This leads Julie to administer a test of his devotion that plays with the thriller plot-line as well as the dramatic one. Moore's art is also in top form here. Julie's last glance at Rick will haunt you even after you turn the page...when you finally do.

  Ivy's league (Echo #5)
NSB agent Ivy Raven has been sent to track down Julie and profiles her with incredible accuracy after skimming through her beat-up truck. Moore is known for his three-dimensional women and the ladies in Echo rank up there with his best.
"We have Julie and Ivy, two women in roles you might normally cast men, so seeing how they handle the situations really interests me," Moore said. "I mean, we've seen the world destroyed many times by men, right? So, what would happen if these two women found themselves in those crucial roles where the stakes are life as we know it?"
Trust us, each issue of Echo is as bold and innovative as the one before it with tons of defining moments—more than we have space to describe here. It's up to you to check out the rest of Echo on your own.
You can easily pick up the first seven issues of Echo at Wizard World Texas this weekend, which also happens to be where Terry Moore will be hanging out.
