|Tia Carrere is an internationally recognized star whose work has scored over $800 million at the box office worldwide. Her own television series Relic Hunter continues to play in syndication all over the world. |
Tia is also an accomplished singer who has performed on the double platinum-selling Wayne's World soundtrack, the Lilo & Stitch soundtrack, as well as her own Warner Brothers record “Dream" plus various film and television soundtracks.
Born and raised in Hawaii, Tia recently returned to her roots by collaborating with childhood friend and multiple Grammy-winning producer Daniel Ho to create the 2008 Grammy-nominated album "Hawaiiana.” The project peaked at #10 on Billboard’s World Music Chart and received many rave reviews. Composed of traditional Hawaiian lullabies and love songs “Hawaiiana” was dedicated to Tia’s young daughter Bianca.
Tia has gone on to win a Grammy this year with her album “ikena,” collaborating again with Daniel Ho. They are nominated again for their newest collaboration “He Nani.” – a soothing blend of jazz and Hawaiiana.
Tia has most recently been seen as a recurring character on HBO's “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” Kelsey Grammar’s FOX show “Back To You,” and FX's groundbreaking series “Nip/Tuck.” She is also in post-production on three feature comedies: “Wild Cherry,” with Rumer Willis and Kristin Cavalleri, “Hardbreakers” with Tom Arnold and Chris Kattan, and “You May Not Kiss the Bride” with Rob Schneider and Mena Suvari.
Tia is currently producing and writing “Wave Dancer,” a feature film in which she will play legendary Hawaiian surfer Rell Sunn that is set to shoot in 2010.
