Two Academy Award, Four Emmy Award Winners @ Anaheim Comic ConAmong the more than 150 celebrity guests attending Anaheim Comic Con, April 16-18 at the Anaheim Convention Center, there are three Academy Award and three Emmy Award-winning actors. Mickey Rooney and Barney Burman have won Oscars, while William Shatner, Lindsay Wagner, Loretta Swit and Ed Asner have earned television's top honor.

Rooney, 89, has been acting since the age of 6. A year later, in 1927, he began a run of more than seven years and more than 60 short films as comic-strip character “Mickey McGuire,” then later starred as the title character in 19 “Andy Hardy” movies. He has appeared in more than 300 movies and TV shows and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Academy Award in 1983.

Burman is the most recent Oscar winner at Anaheim Comic Con, having copped the 2010 Academy Award for his work on Star Trek, which he shares with make-up department head Mindy Hall and prosthetic make-up supervisor Joel Harlow. The three also received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Make-Up on the film.

Shatner is one of the most popular television stars of the past half-century, portraying lead characters in favorite shows like “Star Trek,” “T.J. Hooker,” and, more recently, “Boston Legal.” It was for his work as lawyer Denny Crane on Legal which earned him his first Emmy in 2004. He has also authored a series of science fiction novels called TekWar that were adapted for television.

Ed Asner is the only actor to win Emmys for playing the same character (Lou Grant) in both a comedy ("Mary Tyler Moore" (1970)) and a drama ("Lou Grant" (1977)).

Wagner first became known to millions in her role in the movie The Paper Chase in 1973, then exploded in popularity when she starred in The Bionic Woman, the highly successful spinoff of Six Million Dollar Man, on which the character of “Jaime Sommers” first appeared. It was for her role in Bionic Woman that Wagner earned her Emmy in 1977. She has also appeared in dozens of made-for-TV movies, many of which received high acclaim for tackling important social issues.

Loretta Swit is best-known for her two-time Emmy-winning portrayal of Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan on M*A*S*H.
