Ted was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.
He attended Michigan State University and New York University before settling at the University of Detroit. In 1989 Ted moved to Hollywood where he stared that year in Wes Craven's horror picture, Shocker. Many prominent roles soon followed in such films as Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, Darkman and Candyman.
In 1993 Ted did three years on the Steven Spielberg hit Sci-Fi show, SeaQuest DSV where he played communication specialist LT. Tim O'Neil. In 1996, Ted did six years on the popular fantasy show Xena, Warrior Princes playing the bumbling Joxer the Mighty. Ted also plays Hoffman, the dim witted assistant to J. Jonah Jameson in all of the Spider-Man movies. Ted can also be seen in the movies The Grudge and Clive Barker's Midnight Meat Train.
He often works with his long time friend, Bruce Campbell. Their movies include, Man with the Screaming Brain and recently, My Name Is Bruce.
Lately, Ted has been seen in the TV shows Supernatural and Legend of the Seeker where he has a recurring role as the mapmaker, Sebastian. He can currently be seen on Sony Picture's Crackle.com in Angel of Death with Zoe Bell.
He is writing a feature comedy that he will direct this fall.
Ted lives in Hollywood, California. His hobbies include growing rare and unusual peppers, herbs and cacti in his back yard, visiting strange museums, and his vintage clothing collection which include fifteen tuxedoes from the twenties through the seventies. He also an avid Tigers fan.
