Simpsons Nears Its 500th Episode

The Simpsons are basically the pinnacle of animated television shows. Nothing even comes close (and don’t you dare say Family Guy), and soon we will have yet another way of proving this. In their 23^rd season on-air, they will be premiering their 500^th episode in February of 2012. 

Simpson fans have always wondered what direction the series will go in as time passes, but ultimately we just get more of the same misadventures of Springfield following the family and the slew of secondary characters. That, however, is exactly what we want! There have been talks of Matt Groening mentioning how it’d be interesting to see the characters finally age after all this time, but we’ve seen glimpses of that throughout the series.

All we can ask for is the best he’s got, and while duel-wielding the Simpsons and Futurama, we’re definitely continuously impressed.
