Beharie currently stars on the thrilling mystery-adventure drama “Sleepy Hollow,” from co-creators/executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (the “Star Trek” and “Transformers” franchises, “Fringe”). Beharie plays Lieutenant Grace Abigail “Abbie” Mills, a sheriff detective in the small, modern day town of Sleepy Hollow. The hit series returns for its second season on Fox Monday, September 22nd at 9PM.
Beharies work reaches beyond the small screen. She most recently starred in the Jackie Robinson biography, “42,” opposite Chadwick Boseman and Harrison Ford as Robinson’s wife, ‘Rachel.’ She also co-starred with Michael Fassbender in the Golden Globe Award-nominated film “Shame,” directed by Steve McQueen.
Following her graduation from The Juilliard School’s Drama division, Beharie’s critically acclaimed film debut was as the star of “American Violet,” alongside Alfre Woodard and Tim Blake Nelson. Additional film credits include “The Express,” “My Last Day Without You,” “Woman Thou Art Loosed: On the 7th Day,” “Apartment 4E” and “The Last Fall.”
Beharie resides in New York.
