Loretta Swit first arrived in Hollywood during the early 70’s with roles in iconic TV series like MANNIX, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, GUNSMOKE and HAWAII FIVE-O. However, Switt first rose to fame when she was cast as Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan on M*A*S*H; a role for which she won two Emmy awards during the series’ 11 season run.
Outside of M*A*S*H; Swit has appeared in a wide variety of films and TV projects, like BONANZA, IRONSIDE, RICKLES and THE LOVE BOAT. In 1981, Swit was cast as Det. Christine Cagney in the CAGNEY & LACEY pilot movie, but her contractual obligations to M*A*S*H meant that she could not reprise her role in the CAGNEY & LACEY TV series.
Of particular note to comic fans, Swit also appeared in the 1975 Superman musical, IT’S A BIRD, IT’S A PLANE, IT’S SUPERMAN and is featured on the soundtrack. Swit has also guest-starred on BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES.
Loretta Swit will be appearing at the Big Apple Comic-Con to sign autographs and meet with fans. Don’t miss your chance to meet this iconic actress!
