Miran Kim grew up in New York City and Seoul. She earned her BFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She did graduate work at NYC's School of Visual Arts.
Miran's comic book project includes: Tales from the Crypt #8 (Papercutz), comic book insert in the companion book to the Warner Brother's feature film Trick R Treat. She has an established reputation as a cover artist for the X-Files comics and other projects such as Hellraiser, Animal Man, The Crow, The Predator, Bandy Man and her graphic novel The Fallen. Miran's work appeared in the well-known Absoult Vodka campaign and was titled Absolut Kim.
Miran is currently making covers for IDW, Mars Attacks and The Crow. She will be contributing a very short illustrated vampire story to the anticipated kickstarter book project TOMB in September 2012. Also Miran is working on her graphic novel 27 graves with internationally acclaimed comic book writer Steve Niles.
In addition to comic book work, Miran's paintings have been featured in-group shows at the New Museum (New York), the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art (New York), Petits Papiers Gallery (Brussels/Paris), Mondo Bizzarro Gallery (Roma), NGO Forum/UN Conference on Women (Beijing), La Luz de Jesus Gallery (Los Angeles). Interview and reviews of Miran's work can be found in High fructose Art Magazine, Beautiful Decay Magazine, Juxtapoz Art and Culture Magazine and Giant Robot Magazine online. She is currently in 25 years of Absolut Art Collection Group Show at Wine and Spirits Historical Museum in Dalagatan, Stockholm.
