Michael Heath Coven
Michael Heath Coven's first foray into the costuming world came in 2005 when he met Cristina Jara, the woman who would eventually become his wife. They took over their college dorm common room to prepare Jedi costumes for I-CON, a small science fiction convention in Stonybrook, NY. From there they branched out to other events and other costumes. He expanded his wardrobe to include Han Solo and Jagged Fel of the "Star Wars" franchise, Indiana Jones, Fox Mulder of the "X-Files", Disney's Aladdin, "Cowboy Bebop's" Spike Spiegel, Daniel Jackson of "Stargate SG-1" as well as Simon Tam and Spike from Joss Whedon's "Firefly" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". His favorite and most cherished costume is that of David Tennant's Tenth Doctor from BBC's "Doctor Who", despite his inability to master anything remotely close to a British accent.
By day Michael is a sales estimator in the New York City construction industry. By night he can be found at various science fiction and pop culture conventions nationwide, including Wizard World's upcoming NYC Experience. He lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife, Cristina and their pets Boba, Sha're, Dexter and Lumpawaroo (a dog, two cats and a rabbit, respectively).
