Melissa Stewart is a full time artist and part time educator. Her days are spent at her in-home studio working as the owner of Crab Apple Designs, creating handmade goodies from vintage and new fabrics and papers.
Melissa enjoys experimenting with multimedia collage and digital designs. She spends part of the year in Corpus Christi living near the beach with her dog Lucy and part of the year in her hometown of Austin, Texas.
A 1997 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Melissa majoted in Geography and Marine Biology. After working for 10 years as a teacher and teacher educator, she decided to turn her hobbies of sewing and paper crafting into a business, and Crab Apple Designs was born. The business name represents her love of all things ocean and a symbolic tribute to the craft of teaching.
