UNICORN CITY TRAILER #2

Salt Lake Film Productions and Deep Studios has announced that Unicorn City be the topic of a panel discussion at Wizard World 2011 Chicaco Comic Con being held on Friday August 12th at 4pm in Room C.

Unicorn City (a side splitting romantic comedy that centers on a community of Live Action Role Play Gamers) was written and produced by native Utah brothers Adrian and Bryan Lefler. 2011 Wizard World Chicago Comic Con will be the second private screening of Unicorn City prior to distribution. Unicorn City is an opportunity for any aspiring film maker to learn about the rough and tumble world of film production. Those attending the panel will be co-writer and producer Adrian Lefler, Emilie Lefler from production and costume design, Clint VanDerlinden who steals the show as Rhubarb the Centaur, and the lovely Missy Hill who plays Angie.

Director and co-writer Bryan Lefler says of the film, “Unicorn City is about a die-hard live action role play gamer named Voss (played by Devin McGinn, Bones, Wizards of Waverly Place, Universal Remote) who desperately needs a job. A position opens for his dream job with his favorite game company Warlocks on the Beach. But he’s thrown a curve ball when they ask him for proof of his leadership ability. But he doesn’t really have any. So what does he do? He takes a group of friends out into the woods and starts up a utopian society for gamers and proclaims himself the supreme leader. His best friend Marsha documents the entire ordeal on a camcorder so he can go back and prove to the hiring manager at Warlocks on the Beach that he is a true leader. The only problem is that Unicorn City is on government land and they really aren’t supposed to be there. There’s love, laughs, tears, action, crime, and an arch nemesis played by Jon Gries (Napolean Dynamite, Astronaut Farmer, Lost).

With over 20,000 people following the film on Facebook already, Unicorn City is becoming a viral phenomenon. When screened at 2011 Wizard World Philly Comic Con it received rave reviews. According to Philly Comic Con attendee Jordamus Prime, “Unicorn City was a great film… It stands proudly as one of the single best films about gaming I’ve seen (and I’ve seen more than a handful, trust me). It truly captures the essence of what it is to be a gamer, and really what it is to be a geek and to care so passionately about something that you’d do anything for it.”

The Unicorn City Panel Discussion will take place at Wizard World 2011 Chicago Comic Con Friday August 12th at 4:00pm in Room C. Film screenings will be held on Friday August 12 at 8:00pm, Saturday August 13th at 8:00pm, and Sunday August 14th at 3:00pm. Discussion attendance and Screenings are free with Comic Con show admission and are on a first come first served basis. For more information on the film please go to www.UnicornCity.com.
