Karl AltstaetterKarl has worked in the comic industry since 1992 as an illustrator and inker for Marvel, DC, and Image Comics. He got his start as an assistant on such books as X-Men and Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, Wildcats and Cyber Force. He went on to draw Bloodstrike and Bloodstrike: Assassin for Extreme studios and co-created Q-Unit for Harris Comics. Later, he worked as a designer for several video games, animation productions and theme park productions including various projects for Disney Imagineering. In 1997, Karl formed his own company, Hyperwerks Entertainment, and has illustrated ,co-created and co-written the company's first publication Deity. Since its inception Hyperwerks has launched several new series including: CatsEye, a Deity spin-off, and Saint Angel. In recent years he has worked in the toy industry creating the Marvel Authentics Die-Cast toy line as well as consulting for companies such as Razor USA, Jada Toys and Spinmaster. Karl recently finished drawing the fourth book in the Rostam: Tales of the Shahnameh series. A re-imagining of the Persian hero's adventures in comic book form. Karl wrapped up the first decade of the new millennium by creating Emerald City Blues a post modern, dark, romantic take on the world of The Wizard of Oz. His latest project is called Me2 and will be debuting on MTV Geek.com in 2011 and will be available for digital download through ComXology.
