Gerard de la Costa
(Illustrator)
Gerard de la CostaGerard was born in the Philippines with a pencil in hand and drawing from a very early age. He moved to Canada at the age of six where his love of comics and all things superheroes grew. In high school he thought about a career in medicine but test results from science-related subjects made that a short-lived dream. Art as a career looked more enticing and not having to deal with formulas or numbers was a bonus!

Gerard has diplomas in both Graphic Design and Sequential Illustration. He has worked as a graphics artist for Bic Inc. Canada and freelance illustrator for REAL: The Canadian Kidsí Magazine. Since joining Spent Pencils Studios, he has discovered the joys of sitting in artist alley at conventions and the thought of drawing in front of captive audiences no longer makes him sick to his stomach.
