Futurecon is a 3-Day time-travel themed New Year's Eve extravaganza at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Markham. This upscale non-profit event is in support of Epilepsy Toronto, and features some of the biggest TV personalities, authors, comic book artists, and comedians in Canada! Referenced by some as "the Burning Man of Canadian conventions" because of its creative, innovative "organized chaos," Futurecon is best described an "un-convention."
The Futurecon organization also does year-round education and outreach to get people talking about Epilepsy, including participation in Purple Day -- World Epilepsy Awareness day, March 26th. Founded by Canadian TV star Liana K, Futurecon strives to remove the stigma and isolation suffered by the 1 in 100 children and adults living with Epilepsy, including her 7 year-old nephew Iain.
