Winner of the 2007 Annie Award for best Character Design in an Animated Television Show . . . Mike Kunkel is also the Creator of the Two-Time Eisner Award-winning comic book series "Herobear and the kid" and the critically acclaimed book "The Land of Sokmunster."
In his spare time, he is an accomplished juggler, deep sea diver, lunar astronaut, race car driver, European gourmet chef, world class magician, pro-football wide receiver, big wave surfer, aaaaaand frequent storyteller. Well . . . actually ONLY the storyteller part is true. He’s worked as a storyteller for over 17 years as a Director, Story and Development Artist, Character Designer, Screenwriter and Animator in Television and on Feature Films for such studios as Warner Bros, Sony Entertainment, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Jim Henson Productions, Universal Pictures and Walt Disney Studios.
Currently, he is launching a brand new Captain Marvel series for DC Comics entitled "Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam!" He is both writing and drawing the entire series, and having the best time of his life getting the fun opportunity to create stories about one of his favorite superheroes from when he was a kid.
