DIRK MANNING is best known as the writer/creator of the horror comic series NIGHTMARE WORLD from Image Comics/Shadowline and the ongoing inspirational column/book collection WRITE OR WRONG: “A WRITER’S GUIDE TO CREATING COMICS” (Bleeding Cool/Transfuzion Publishing). He is also the writer of LOVE STORIES (TO DIE FOR) (Image Comics/Shadowline), TALES OF MR. RHEE, and stories for CRITTER and THE LEGEND OF OZ: THE WICKED WEST (Big Dog Ink). Aside from writing comics Dirk has written several short films for the popular YouTube horror series BlackBoxTV, including “The Hunger,” “The Night Shift” and “Zombie.” Don't let the tongue-in-cheek photo of the guy in the black hat and scarf fool you, though, as Dirk’s a very approachable guy, with more and more con-goers every year coming to discover how much they enjoy his work and panel presentations – even those who don’t typically consider themselves fan of “horror comics.” Take our word for it: No trip to Artist Alley is complete without stopping to talk to Dirk Manning – especially if you’re interested in learning about how to become a professional comic book creator! Dirk lives on the Internet and can be found online at www.DirkManning.com as well as at Facebook and Twitter. Cthulhu is his homeboy.
