|J. David Spurlock is an award winning author, illustrator, agent, educator, advocate for artists’ rights, and associate to star talents Frazetta, Neal Adams, Steranko, Joe Kubert, Carmine Infantino, Wally Wood and more! Spurlock's recent guest speaking engagements include: interviewing Stan Lee Sept. 4, 2010 for Dragon Con TV and a live audience if 4,600; The Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine re-launch and convention in Indianapolis; the May 2010 LA Rockin' Comic-Con with Stan Lee; the Sept. 2010 Art of Neal Adams book premiere; the Al Williamson-Frank Frazetta tribute event at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con; Rutgers School of Law; University of the Arts in Philadelphia (Oct. 16, 2009); Canada's Where Monsters Dwell radio show; and Spurlock served as Guest Curator of the 2010 Steranko exhibit at the Geppi Entertainment Museum (GEM) in Baltimore.|

Spurlock has founded multiple scholarship funds at the School of Visual Arts in New York and has taught at the university level since 1986. Spurlock's works have been acclaimed by The New York Times, IPPY Awards, Entertainment Weekly, Eisner Awards, National Public Radio, Time Out New York, Library Journal, the Rondo Awards, Publishers Weekly, the Hugo Awards, The Village Voice, Locus Awards, and more.
Spurlock's film/TV credits include: Frazetta Painting With Fire; STARZ network's Comicbooks Unbound; Free@Last TV's 2005 documentary,The Batman Story, for BBC Five; directing BBC-star Jonathan Ross in his recent interview of Jim Steranko; and serving as a consultant to Morgan Spurlock on the documentary Comic Con Episode Four: A Fan's Hope. Spurlock is currently writing a book on how to draw monsters for Random House imprint Watson-Guptill and working on a Superheroes documentary for PBS.
