As an actor, David Harris is best known for his portrayal of Cochise, a young gang member, in the cult classic film, THE WARRIORS. As a natural born fighter named after the famous Apache Chief, Harris’ character was originally slated to die in the film. However, Cochise ultimately survives and his unique Native American inspired look helped him achieve iconic status. In 2005, Harris reprised his role for THE WARRIORS video game by Rockstar Games.
Harris has also appeared in numerous hit TV series, including KOJAK, NORTH AND SOUTH, MACGYVER, HILL STREET BLUES, IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT, SIMON & SIMON, PROFILER, ER and NYPD BLUE.
Harris’ film career is equally impressive, with roles in A SOLDIER’S STORY, QUICKSILVER, BRUBAKER, FIRE WITH FIRE, FATAL BEAUTY and PURPLE HEARTS.
