“Contamination” is a documentary about genre conventions and the crazy assortment of professionals and fans that attend. Shot at the second “Contamination” convention in St. Louis during the spring of 2011, the film details the love and pursuit of fandom and all that includes - autographs, merchandise, movies, art, costumes, and the chance to escape from the real world, one weekend at a time.
The film also features interviews with horror greats Kane Hodder, Tony Todd, the cast of Day of the Dead, adult film legend Seka, musician G Tom Mac, ‘Tron’ star Dan Shor, and the cast of the unreleased 1994 Roger Corman version of The Fantastic Four!
The DVD also includes a wealth of extras including short films, promotional spots and commercials, additional interview footage with the actors, and a live performance by G Tom Mac of his famous “Cry Little Sister” from the soundtrack of ‘The Lost Boys”.
Contamination will screen Friday at 8pm at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center with producer Gayle Gallagher and director Corey Logsdon in attendance for Q&A. Gayle also produced the vampire film “Shadowland.”
