|Christine Elise is an American film and television actress. Elise was born Christine Elise McCarthy in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of artists. She graduated from the Boston Latin School in 1983.|
Elise had a recurring role in the final season of China Beach which she has often cited as her best professional experience. She starred as "Kyle" (Andy Barclay's foster sister) in the 1990 film Child's Play 2. In 1993, she played Jenn Platt in the horror film Body Snatchers (1993 film). She also had recurring roles on Beverly Hills, 90210 - she wrote three episodes of that series - and appeared in virtually all of season two on ER. Following her stint on ER, she appeared on the short-lived Fox show L.A. Firefighters. She appeared in the TV movie Vanishing Point with Viggo Mortensen, who requested her for the role. They met on another project, Boiling Point, though her role was largely written out. She also had a recurring role on In the Heat of the Night. She is also featured in the punk rock documentary 'American Hardcore.' This summer, Christine was cast in Disney's new franchise - the feature film PROM. Most recently, Christine completed her directorial debut - a short film she also wrote, produced and stars in—Bathing and the Single Girl. A trailer for that film can be seen at Bathing and the Single Girl.
Under her birth name of Christine McCarthy, she has also been pursuing a lifelong love by working as a professional photographer, once (February 2008) showing her work at the 2-Cup Cafe in Boston, Massachusetts. In the summer of 2008 there was a showing of a selection of her photographs at the Paris restaurant Pink Flamingos. In April 2009, she participated in the Cambridge Massachusetts "Burlesque As Art" exhibit.
She has been a programmer of Michigan's Waterfront Film Festival (http://www.waterfrontfilm.org/) for all of its 12 years.
Recently, inspired by her exposure to the new film markets in both Boston & Michigan & the lack of both actors & crews in these areas, she developed a seminar for actors. This seminar is intended to be a crash course on the dos and don'ts of how to approach acting as a part time career in the satellite markets around the US. She calls the program http://www.thebizofthebiz.com/.
