Allow your children to explore character development through improvisation with the Walnut Street Theatre, Philadelphia’s most popular theatre company. Working with a superhero theme, participants will take on superhero personas and will use their superhero power to tackle a specific mission given by the teaching artists. The group will participate in actor warm-ups before they split up into age-matched groups. Each age group will be given a specific mission and will complete it during the workshop. Learn lightsaber fighting from Star Wars stunt coordinator and sword master Nick Gillard, who choreographed the fight scenes for Star Wars I, II and III. In this 90-minute master class, Nick will teach a complicated run from Revenge of the Sith, which will cover all of the moves and the rules involved in Jedi fighting. Going into its 5th year, the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival is the only event of its kind in Philadelphia. Showcasing films by and about Asian Americans, PAAFF’s mission is to educate and expose the Philadelphia region through screenings, panel discussions as well as year round events.
