Bobby Ray Akers Jr. grew up consumed with a passion for all things horror. In 2004 he began to make his dream of working in this genre a reality by networking across the country through the horror convention circuit. In 2008, Akers co-produced and was a puppeteer for the horror anthology Monsterpiece Theatre, and directed/executive produced the short film Christmas Stalking, for Dead of Night Films and Fly Vision Entertainment. In 2011, Akers handled Special FX for director Pascal Beauboeuf's short film 'surprise, Surprise and modeled the character of FBI Agent Rob Parker in Dennis Willman's Ginger-Stein illustrated novel series.
Akers new passion is publishing. His involvement in the Ginger-Stein project led to him teaming up with Willman to co-write and co-illustrate The Vengeance of Sleepy Hollow, a multimedia re-imagining of the classic tale. The first book Origins was released from Dead of Night Entertainment and Iron Dead Studios September 14, 2012. The team recently completed work on FROSTY: Twas the Night Before the Apocalypse and Expanded Universe: The Guide to Robots, Aliens & Babes, both available now through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Akers DEAD OF NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT is a multimedia production company dedicated to creating the highest quality books, films and illustration projects possible. Bobby is currently working with Dennis Willman on the first installment of the planned BLOOD DRIVE comic book and novelization trilogy, BLOOD DRIVE: THE INHABITANTS which will be released in 2015.
