Athena Finger knew all along that she was the lone grandchild of Bill Finger, the uncredited co-creator and original writer of Batman. Bill died broke and relatively unknown two years before Athena was born. She never met her grandfather but heard about him from her father Fred and has embarked on a mission to discover the Bill Finger the world barely knew. When Athena got married, she kept her maiden name out of respect for the man who gave life not only to her (indirectly) but also to the world's most popular superhero. Since Marc Tyler Nobleman discovered Athena while doing research for his book, Bill the Boy Wonder: The Secret Co-Creator of Batman, she has slowly made her presence known to comicdom. She lives in Florida with her son Ben and teaches math at Broward College, and through projects like the Comic Arts Council's short film The Cape Creator: A Tribute to Bill Finger, the Unbilled Co-Creator of Batman, she has become active in helping to right a wrong, in helping the world discover the man who named Bruce Wayne, named Gotham City, created Commissioner Gordon, gave Batman a car that went on to become one of the most famous autos on the planet, and decided Batman's costume should be dark with a scalloped cape and bat-like cowl in other words, the man who put the dark in Dark Knight. Celebrate the 75th anniversary of Batman's debut with Athena as she makes Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con her very first convention appearance!
