|Amy Acker last appeared on the ABC series “No Ordinary Family.” Her other television credits include “Happy Town,” “Dollhouse,” “Alias,” and she played Fred on “Angel” for three seasons. Her feature credits include Joss Whedon’s “Cabin in the Woods,” “Sironia,” ”21 and Wake Up,” Steven Spielberg’s “Catch Me If You Can”, “The Novice” featuring Jacob Pitts and Frank Langella.
Born in Dallas, this Texas native studied ballet dancing for thirteen years before heading to Southern Methodist University where she studied Fine Arts and earned her BFA in acting. With a love for the theatre, Amy studied at the Undermain Theatre in Dallas and has starred in the productions “The Tempest” and “Much Ado About Nothing,” earning the Therese Raquin Award for one of her star performances. After college Amy pressed her luck and moved to New York City where she quickly landed leading roles in the independent features “The Energy Specialist” opposite Ged Dickerson and “The Accident.” Soon after she completed both movies, Amy moved to Los Angeles. |
Shortly after arriving in town Acker landed a role in “Groom Lake,” an independent feature written and directed by William Shatner, and after a reading for “Angel” she nailed the role of “Fred” and was cast as a series regular.
In her spare time Amy enjoys travelling and reading. She relaxes by practicing yoga. Amy currently lives in Los Angeles with her family.
