Alison Schleich, crime scene investigator and fused glass artist loves her work. For Alison, fusing glass is like solving a mystery and revealing the hidden beauty of the glass. Fused glass is a term for glass that has been fired at select high temperatures in a kiln to create various results with the glass. The brilliant optical properties of the pieces are often a result of using dichroic glass, originally developed by NASA for use in the face shields of space suits. Alison's final products include glass art, jewelry, tiles, and functional pieces including plates, bowls and coasters. Alison also upcycles old trading card games by making them into jewelry.
